Lalit Modi


Lalit Kumar Modi is an Indian businessman and cricket administrator. He was the first Chairman and Commissioner of the Indian Premier League , and ran the tournament for three years until 2010. He also served as the Chairman of the Champions League during 200810. He was the Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India during 200510. He has also served as the President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association , and as the Vice President of the Punjab Cricket Association.

Lalit Modi was born in Delhi in 1963, into one of Indias leading business families. His parents are Krishan Kumar Modi and Bina Modi. He has an elder sister, Charu Modi Bhatia, and a younger brother, Samir Modi. His grandfather Gujar Mal Modi had established the Modi Group business conglomerate and the town of Modinagar. His father KK Modi greatly expanded the family business.191
